What is DIPL. TECH.

Dipl. Tech. in architectural design from BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology) is a diploma program that prepares one for a career in architectural design. The program provides one with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to design and construct buildings.

During the program, members learn about architectural design principles, building codes and regulations, structural systems, environmental systems, and construction materials and methods. They also learn to use computer-aided design (CAD) software and other tools to create detailed drawings and models of buildings.

The program typically takes two years to complete and includes both classroom instruction and hands-on learning experiences. Graduates of the program typical work in the field of architectural technologists, building designers, or drafters in architectural firms, construction companies, or government agencies.
