The Jamie Banfield Design Inc. team is growing and we are looking to add a forward thinking, detailed oriented, design savvy Interior Designer leader to join the #teamJBD.
The interior designer will work directly with Principal Designer Jamie Banfield, our clients, general contractors and trade partners and lead the interior design team on the firms residential projects across Canada. Successful candidates must hold a proficient level of understanding and execution in AutoCAD, space planning, design development; including the ability to create and articulate diversified design concepts while understanding the client’s needs within function, use and durability of the home while researching, selecting, specifying and documenting the latest finishes, fixtures and equipment that fits with our clients various needs.
The role functions as a leadership member of the interior design team and is responsible for monitoring design aspects of the projects scope of service and budget while delivering the highest quality of work exceeding our clients expectations. It is important that all successful candidates maintain excellent client and vendors relationships, have clear communication skills and the ability to be self-motivated and self-managed while working in a collaborative environment.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
Development of creating design directions for projects.
Design, create and optimize concept layouts for all types and scaled residential projects across Canada.
Practice and lead the programming and pre-planning design analysis.
Possess a strong knowledge for the design process.
Coordination and communication with all members of the project team including clients, contractors, trades vendors and consultants.
Develop and accurately complete space planning, programing and design development, documentation and construction administration tasks.
Selection, specification and documentation of FF+E.
Attend site progress and deficiency reviews.
A thorough review of all construction documents for quality accordance.
Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
Manage and mentor junior design team members while working in a fast pace environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of a Diploma Interior Design from a CIDA accredited school.
Fluent in AutoCAD (and other design-related programs are a plus)
A minimum of 3+ years design experience.
Hold a high level of organization while being focused on the details.
Goal and deadline orientated.
Customer service genius.
Proficiency working with Microsoft Office, including Work, Excel and PowerPoint.
Has amazing communication skills and not scared to pick up the phone over sending an email.
Has a proven ability to self-motivate and be a self-start.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; while using a range of office storage, including email, spreadsheets and databases.
Hold a large understanding of BC Building Code.
Has a valid BC drivers licence.
JOB TYPE:
Full-time. Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:00PM (7.5 hours)

COMPENSATION RANGE:
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 CAD salary.
